By maximizing the performance of our products, we increase the lifetime of our machines. At the same time, we focus on how to create the best end product. That's why sustainability permeates our processes at every stage.
1. Environmental
We work systematically to identify and improve our environmental impact. Scanlube's climate footprint is mapped according to international standards in order to reduce it.
Scanlube is certified in accordance with ISO 14001 and, in line with this, conducts systematic and proactive environmental management work. Based on a life cycle perspective, we identify and manage our environmental impact, both positive and negative. We update our most significant environmental aspects annually and work actively with risks, environmental goals and action plans.
Scanlube has an environmental permit under the Environmental Protection Act with conditions that regulate how the company should conduct the manufacture of lubricants.
Since 2022, Scanlube has been measuring its climate impact in accordance with the GHG (Green House Protocol) in Scope 1 and Scope 2. In 2024, we began mapping and measuring climate impact in Scope 3. The GHG protocol gives us a good basis for continuing to develop our climate work.

The physical safety and health of employees is an important part of our social sustainability. It also applies to equal treatment and equality in our workplace so that every employee can feel comfortable and thrive.
Scanlube must be a safe and secure workplace with healthy employees. Safety always comes first. Our systematic work on the working environment is successful and we are certified in accordance with ISO 45001.

3. Economic
Economic sustainability is about working long-term and in line with sound ethical principles – both for us and for those we work with. This means that quality, environment and social aspects are important when we choose suppliers.
Scanlube strives for long-term relationships with customers, suppliers and business partners that are based on mutual trust. We value honesty, integrity and fairness in our business relationships and expect the same from our partners. Employees involved in international business collaborations must know and comply with all relevant foreign and domestic laws and regulations.
Scanlube respects basic human rights according to the UN declaration.
Scanlube mostly buys raw materials and merchandise from suppliers approved by our licensor. Services and other materials are mainly purchased from Swedish suppliers. We work continuously with assessments of existing and new suppliers where quality, environment and social aspects are rated.

We have zero carbon emissions in our own operations
An important part of our sustainability work is the climate footprint we leave throughout the value chain. We therefore measure our greenhouse gas emissions according to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, the international standard for CO2 calculations in the value chain.

Scope 1
Includes the direct emissions that occur in the organization's own operations, such as fuel combustion from vehicles owned or controlled by the organization. Scanlube's local production generates no CO2e emissions.
Scope 2
Includes indirect emissions from purchased electricity, steam, heat and cooling.
All purchased energy comes from fossil-free or renewable sources and we therefore have a very low carbon footprint in Scope 2.
Scope 3
Relates to other indirect emissions from purchased materials, product use, waste management, business travel, etc. that the organization does not own or control.
In 2024, Scope 3 emissions were mapped. Our carbon footprint can be further reduced by increasing the share of renewable raw materials, recycled lubricating oil and recycled packaging materials as well as reducing emissions from transportation.
